As host of today's stop of The Book Lovers Blog Hop, I welcome you all and invite you to read my answer to this question and the answers of other fellow bloggers right after mine. Tomorrow you can read my answer to "Top 3 books you think everyone should read" on Tabitha Caplinger's blog. Enjoy! ![]() The most thought-provoking book I’ve read is without any doubts The Biggest Secret by British investigative journalist David Icke, first published in 1999. It has taken me over 15 years to get my head round a few of the many groundbreaking concepts illustrated in this book, so I am not surprised when people’s first reaction is disbelief. Over the years, through other sources, personal experiences and world events, I have realised that what he exposes is mostly accurate and that the world is very different from what I believed it was like before reading this book. In this well researched work, Icke discusses the origin of Earth, of mankind, of religions, and of money (which is created once a person borrows it from a bank, so money is created out of thin air, but we have to repay the loan and pay interest on it); the Hollow Earth theory; the murder of Lady Diana, Princess of Wales; the mind control programmes like MK Ultra and Project Monarch; the real reason behind GMOs and vaccines; Satanism and paedophilia; the micro-chipping of the human population; extra-terrestrials and Project Bluebeam; occult symbolism in art and architecture; the nature of reality; plans for a Third World War; and how powerful people in the world are all interconnected through institutions like the Club of Rome, the Bilderberg Group, the UN, the Council of Foreign Relations, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, the Trilateral Commission, and the Round Table which is at the centre of this web. So what is the biggest secret? It’s that “a reptilian race from another dimension has been controlling the planet for thousands of years.” I can't think of anything more thought-provoking than this affirmation. And now, here are the answers from my fellow bloggers: ![]() Tabitha Caplinger www.tabithacaplinger.com The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. As a Christian I found the presentation of evil and how it thinks, and works in our lives to be so powerful and illuminating. I thought the choice to write from the complete perspective of the demons to be brilliant. It was engaging and with every chapter I felt like I was learning something so important to my faith. ![]() Belinda Bekkers www.belindabekkers.com A Field Guide To Getting Lost by Rebecca Solnit, The Empathy Exams by Leslie Jamison, and Alice+Freda Forever by Alexis Coe. ![]() V.L. Jennings www.virginialorijennings.com Esaru Emoto’s The True Power of Water. It details a study on the power of words on the formation of ice crystals and hypothesized how negative words and positive words can affect the human body. Negative words when placed on a cup of water would form badly formed ice crystals, Positive words would come out with perfectly formed ice crystals. On a more contemporary fiction level... The descriptions in A Wrinkle in Time were always thought provoking. I also have a crystal book called Love Is In The Earth for which I am using as inspiration for a novel I’m working on. This book goes into the supposed healing powers and different vibrations of different types of crystals. ![]() Jebraun Clifford www.jebraunclifford.com Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee were both thought-provoking books dealing with racism in the United States in the South. I read both of them as a young person, and they were difficult to get through. I appreciated how both authors tackled this subject with sensitivity and depth. ![]() Jo Linsdell www.JoLinsdell.com This has to be The Diary Of A Young Girl by Anne Frank. I first read this book as a child and it hit me hard. Even now, every time I reread it, it still hits me hard. This is a book that everyone should read. Follow The Book Lovers Blog Hop
