I have always wondered where our archetypes, symbols and myths originated, and with this blog post I hope to instill in you enough curiosity to desire to explore this subject further.
A few months ago I came across a series of YouTube videos titled Discourses on an alien sky by writer, publisher, editor and corporate executive David Talbott with The Thunderbolts Projects.
The alien sky Talbott discusses is Earth's sky just a few thousand years ago. The author followed up on the Immanuel Velikovsky's Worlds in Collision (1950) theory that the terrifying mythical "gods" of the ancient world were actual planets and that the Earth was disturbed by their erratic movement.
Combining the Electric Universe theory with the hypothesis that a few thousand years ago the celestial configuration above our planet was very different from the one we see today, in the '70s Talbott set on a journey to find archeological evidence that could pass the acid test and prove it.
This investigation turned out to be very complex and apparently going nowhere. He discovered that in many different cultures (Greek, Latin, Babylonian, Egyptian,...) the word for sun was the same used to indicate Saturn, and the ancient sun didn't rise or set: it didn't move. This means that it should have been positioned at the North celestial pole, which is aligned with the star Polaris, the only motionless point in the sky looking up from Earth. And this didn't make any sense.
However, throughout the Near East the Universal Monarch appeared as a central sun called Axis and Pole of the World. For example, ancient Iranian astronomers referred to the pole as Saturn's home, like the Greek Neoplatonists.
He also noticed that the vast crescent depicted in the pictograms (see picture below) didn't behave like the crescent of our modern moon.
What if the description of the sky in ancient cultures worldwide was accurate? What if Saturn didn't have rings and Earth, Mars and Venus were its satellites, and the position relatively to our planet changed throughout the years?
After studying the subject for 20 years, Talbott eventually put the project on ice because he wasn't able to explain his theory in a way that scientists would accept.
However, not long afterwards, a specialist in orbital mechanics, Robert Grubaugh, got in touch with him. He had developed a model that could support Talbott's idea.
Here it is.
There used to be only 5 planets, not 8, with Earth the furthest planet from the Sun.
This planetary configuration circled around its own centre of gravity and simultaneously revolved around the sun.
The planets were extremely close together, interacting with each other gravitationally. In this collinear system, the planets stayed in line.
(from: Remembering the End of the World)
In the beginning, during the Golden Age, there was the Universal Monarch, the Firmly Seated God or Motionless Sun, the Great Sphere of Heaven close to the Earth:
It had a beautiful eye, heart and soul, the Mother Goddess: Venus, its daughter and spouse.
The planet Mars was referred to as the unborn hero, heart of heart and pupil of the eye.
The goddess was "The Great Star". It radiated its comet-like hair in all directions (plasma discharges). She was "The Glory of Heaven", the animated flame giving life to the ancient Sun God.
Her place was right at centre of the sun, and this translated in the symbol of the wheel:
As the configuration evolved, the spokes became first 3, generating the Tri-form or Trifold goddess of ancient mythology (Diana, the Three Graces, ...), and the symbol of the pyramid in occultism.
Later, they became four, described as the Four Luminous Winds, the four Pillars of Heaven etc..; and five (see picture below).
Day and night arrived with the great crescent of Saturn, which circled from the West at dawn to the North at noon, to the East at sunset and to the South at midnight:
But the small planet Mars was moved by resonance into an increasing elliptical orbit. It began to oscillate between the two larger planets Venus and Earth.
As Mars approached the larger bodies, atmosphere and oceans were pulled from its surface. (From: Remembering the End of the World)
Our ancestors interpreted this event as the birth of the hero, who grew a beard and wore his mother as a conical queen, and took a form of a peg or dagger.
Then, according to the myths, he rejoined the goddess, impregnated her and broke away. Venus took a serpentine aspect.
They danced in the sky, forming a yin-yang like sign.
And eventually the symbol of the Sacred Eye was born:
When Mars's orbit came too near to Earth, the red planet provoked a catastrophe, which is remembered in many culture as the Great Flood.
The Mars's orbit taking the planet away from Earth inspired another symbols: the Staircase to Heaven or the World's Mountain, and the Serpent.
The Mountain of Mars was seen as the Great Mooring Post of the sky, the Pillar of the Cosmos.
The stability of the Polar Configuration didn't last for long.
Eventually Saturn was cast beyond Jupiter from Earth's perspective.
In mythology, Jupiter overthrew his father Saturn, ruler of the Golden Age and of time, and became ruler of the Cosmos.
Venus transformed into a terrifying goddess with dishevelled hair, or Medusa, or a raging serpent or dragon that battled Mars, the hero.
That's probably why in some cultures comets (Venus) are considered bad omens.
When peace returned to the sky above the Earth, the solar system looked very different from the one of the Golden Age, when Saturn ruled our world.
I hope that this reconstruction of our ancient past has whetted your appetite for more, dear Seeker. Here's a list of where you can start your own research:

Save the day: my next post will go live on 23 May. I will discuss the consequences of the Electric Universe theory on healing.
In this post I'm going to explore the theory of the Electric Universe (don't worry, no equations involved!), because it is the base to understanding a relative new theory on world mythology which I will discuss next month.
The myths of creation and the symbolism still used today (crowns, evil eye, the ancient Gods, the pyramid, etc.) are so similar around the world that they may have a common origin whose meaning had been lost throughout the millennia.
Could it be that they all derive from a planetary configuration dominating Earth's sky until around 6,000 years ago? This is the thesis explored by writer David Talbott and physicist Wallace Thornhill in the documentaries Thunderbolts of the Gods and Symbols of an Alien Sky.
Back to the Electric Universe, to write my story Homecoming, in which the main character, Shr, is an inhabitant of the Sun, I had to research our star and frankly I didn't understand how the nuclear fusion worked. I mean, it didn't make sense to me. It turns out I'm not the only one and I was pleasantly surprised when the Electric Universe Theory explains how the Sun works in far more logical sense.
Talking logic, let's start from the beginning.
The Electric Universe theory is based on the idea that as 99.9% of the Universe is made up of plasma – electrically charged gas – and that the electromagnetic forces that are found everywhere may have more influence on our Universe than gravity.
Nearly everything in the Universe is formed of plasma, all stars, including our sun is made of plasma.
Gravity is the weakest of all forces.
As plasma makes up most of the universe, is everywhere and is so much stronger than gravity, could it be an Electric Universe?
As stated on the website http://www.electricuniversetheory.com:
The Electric Universe theory is interdisciplinary, integrating and supporting subject as diverse as the science (astronomy, geology, physics), with the soft sciences such as ancient history and comparative mythology.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the Electric Universe has also become the target of pseudo-skeptics, whose criticisms have consisted of ad hominems, misunderstanding, misrepresentation, and labeling as pseudoscience.
Key points of the Electric Universe Theory
Plasma physics and electrical engineering hold the key to explaining the origins of powerful magnetic fields throughout the cosmos, contrary to what we have been taught that electric currents produce magnetic fields.
According to NASA,
The filaments persist in NGC 1275 even though the turmoil of galactic collisions should destroy them. First, active galaxy NGC 1275 is the central, dominant member of the large and relatively nearby Perseus Cluster of Galaxies. Wild-looking at visible wavelengths, the active galaxy is also a prodigious source of x-rays and radio emission. NGC 1275 accretes matter as entire galaxies fall into it, ultimately feeding a supermassive black hole at the galaxy's core. This composite image, recreated from archival Hubble Space Telescope data, highlights the resulting galactic debris and filaments of glowing gas, some up to 20,000 light-years long. Observations indicate that the structures, pushed out from the galaxy's center by the black hole's activity, are held together by magnetic fields. Also known as Perseus A, NGC 1275 spans over 100,000 light years and lies about 230 million light years away.

The Electric Universe Theory can explain how it is possible that high-energy jets spanning many light-years across the cosmos are confined to narrow streams across cosmic distances, and what prevents the so-called streams of gas from dispersing in the “vacuum” of space. (The Thunderbolts Project,

The Fermi Bubbles, giant gamma-ray structures which scientists have dubbed "incandescent bulbs screwed into the center of the galaxy," are both explicable and predictable in the Electric Universe. (

A pulsar is a highly magnetized rotating neutron star or white dwarf that emits a beam of electromagnetic radiation. This radiation can be observed only when the beam of emission is pointing toward Earth, and is responsible for the pulsed appearance of emission. A neutron star is the collapsed core of a large star which before collapse had a total of between 10 and 29 solar masses (supernova). Neutron stars are the smallest and densest stars.
The EU theory states that these stars are not mainly made of neutrons (as the established model affirms), and the enormous amount of energy released by a pulsar confirms the validity of the EU Theory (

Mainstream science sees lightning as part of a closed Earth's global electrical circuit. However, there is more and more evidence that the circuit is actually open, connecting planets and the Sun. This explains also phenomena like the Martian dust devils (Top 10 Reasons the Universe is Electric #6: Charged Planets (Inner Solar System) | Space News)
Before NASA sent its Juno spacecraft to explore Jupiter, astronomers were "totally wrong" about much of what they thought they knew about the planet, the mission's principal investigator, Scott Bolton, said during a lecture here at the 231st meeting of the American Astronomical Society on Tuesday (Jan. 9).
"Our ideas were totally wrong about the interior structure, about the atmosphere, [and] even about the magnetosphere," Bolton said. (Hanneke Weitering, www.space.com, 'Totally Wrong' on Jupiter: What Scientists Gleaned from NASA's Juno Mission, January 10, 2018)
This is not the first time that mainstream scientists are proven wrong by data received from space probes like Juno and Cassini (for example: the plumes of Encedalus, the fact that at the centre of both poles of Saturn there is a hot spot, that Io's hot spots are hotter than any lava on Earth, and so on) while these phenomena were predicted by The EU Theory.

Some surface features of various cosmic bodies are caused by electric discharges or cosmic mega-lighting bolts. These include various craters and valley/river systems like the Grand Canyon, the Mariner Valley on Mars, the Stickney Crator on Martian Moon Photos, and the Rayed Tycho crater on the Moon. (Top 10 Reasons the Universe is Electric #8: Electrical Planetary Scarring | Space News).
The Electric Sun theory (also Electric Star theory, and Electric Sun Model and Electric Sun Hypothesis) is the idea that the Sun (and stars) derives the main sources of its power electrically from its surroundings, rather than from within by nuclear fusion (the mainstream view). This also explains why the chromosphere, transition region, and corona are much hotter than the surface of the Sun.
More and more data from the Hubble Space Telescope show us planetary systems in which gas giants orbit their stars closer than smaller, rocky planets. This is surprising for those believing in the accretion model but explainable by the EU Theory, as you can see in the videos Solar System's History in Disarray | Space News and Wal Thornhill: Ultima Thule – Another Victory for the Electric Universe | Space News
I hope that this post has whetted your appetite for my next one, in which I will take you in an exciting journey to discover the origin of world mythology.
