I planned our winter holiday in July last year. My daughter Sofia, my boyfriend John and I would be spending Christmas at my parents’ house in Italy. “Booked!” I screamed once I read the notification that my payment for the flight tickets had gone through.
In September, we started the countdown.
In November, I spent a week in Italy to deal with errands that would be difficult to do over Christmas, like seeing my accountant, my consultant at the bank and so on. I had the chance to spend time alone with my parents and catch up with a few friends. After over a year abroad, the warm embrace of my folks overwhelmed my heart. Plus I’d be back in only a month’s time, just before Christmas. Maybe I could even celebrate my 50th birthday there.
On 20th December, I checked my messages and emails just before the taxi driver arrived at 6 am. Nothing from EasyJet, but a piece of news caught my eye. Gatwick airport had been closed the night before and flights suspended because of drones sighted flying over the airport. My legs trembled. I inhaled deeply, and shook off that awful sensation. The article referred to the night before, surely the situation now was under control.
At 8.45 am, we were at Gatwick airport, queuing up to drop off our bags. We were excited at the thought of what we’d do that afternoon and the following days in Italy, what we’d eat, who we’d see, but above all we were excited about spending Christmas with granny, grandad, Sofia’s cousins and the rest of our family, for the first time after 6 years.
However, it was not meant to be. The check-in procedures stopped when it was almost our turn: the airport had just been closed, and all flights due to depart before 2 pm (ours included) had been cancelled.
In the hope to find another flight from another airport, and that the airline would arrange the transport, we patiently waited for four hours to talk to an EasyJet customer service representative.
“We have no flights available to Italy until the 26th December. I’m very sorry. You may try with another airline. We’ll refund you the fare.”
In a state of trance, we checked flights online with British Airways from Gatwick for later in the afternoon or for the following day. Every time we wanted to book them, the flights disappeared. Therefore, we took the shuttle to the South Terminal to go and book the tickets in person, if that was at all possible. During the short ride, a few passengers near me shouted, “Look at the drone! Over there!” but I couldn’t see it. One thing was obvious though: the airport would stay shut in the afternoon too. It was already 1.30 pm. The chances to fly out from Gatwick that day were non-existent.
At the South Terminal, there were passengers everywhere, making it difficult to move around with our suitcases. We gave up the idea of reaching British Airways and went to Costa’s for a bite to eat instead. The tears that had been welling in the sockets of my eyes flooded my face. I felt I had failed my parents and my daughter, and John. Our 10-days holiday would be reduced to three days if I didn’t find another way to get to Venice before Christmas. Three days! Was it worth it? I felt like giving up, cancel the return journey and go home.
Nevertheless, three days were better than nothing, and the more we waited the less chances we had to leave even on the 26th. Sniffling, I went online and accepted the flight offered to us, at 8.30 pm on 26th December.
The following days we did our best to enjoy the Christmas holidays and at last, we flew out to Venice.
In those three days, we fitted in everything we could, however, a visit to Vicenza had to be cut short because of the unseasonable bitter cold and the heavy fog, it was far too cold to go to Venice so Verona had no competition; Padua was magical; and my improvised birthday party was a success.
After a month, the question, “Who forced Gatwick to suspend all flights for 36 hours?” is still unanswered. Actually, it seems that, “Some of the drone sightings which kept Gatwick Airport on lockdown for 36 hours may have been reports of Sussex Police's own aircraft, the force's highest-ranking officer admitted yesterday. “ (The Telegraph, 29 December 2018)
Yes, you read it correctly. Police’s equipment. A few days ago, the same happened at Heathrow but just for an hour on 8th January.
Anyway, who can profit from this drone hysteria?
I think there are two possibilities:

For the second year in a row, blogger and writer Solveig Werner invited me to contribute to her popular Advent Calendar and I gladly accepted again.
Last year, my piece was a reflection on what Christmas meant to me (The Magic and Curse of Christmas).
This year, after so many heavy blog posts, I wrote the lighthearted shorty story A Child at Heart.
Here's an excerpt:
Anna’s necklace is simple, just the thin gold chain her grandparents gave her on her christening, and the long hankered for heart-shaped moldavite pendant her cousin Laura donated her on her birthday, almost a year ago.
Anna couldn’t believe her eyes when she opened the small cream box. Moldavite, one of the most powerful crystal on Earth, the one that brings about accelerated spiritual transformation and therefore changes in its owner’s life faster than any other crystal, was finally hers.
In her late forties, divorced, with two teenage children and a stable job, she longed for an improvement in her dire financial situation and for a partner with whom to share the rest of her lonely life. Slender, tall, fair-skinned, sporting a maze of curly strawberry hair, she was still pretty and made men turn their heads. The wrong men. Those who wanted one-night stands and were too scared of romance. At last, she was offered a chance to fast-forward her life.
She sat at the oak kitchen table, alone. Since her children were always out on Saturday night and she had nowhere to go, she had got into the habit of writing in her journal for hours after dinner, summing up her thoughts on the events of the week.
This Saturday night, though, Anna can’t bring herself to do it. Instead, she holds the thin moldavite in her hands.
“So, what have you brought me so far dearie?
A blazing row with my now former bestie, hence no more friends who are single with whom to go out. Well, at least I know how envious of me she was, so envious to criticise every aspect of my life. Every time I was down, she would kick me even lower. Maybe I should thank you for this fight dearie. And the strange thing is that I don’t miss her much.
No more men in my life. OK, those I had before were no good, but now it’s the desert!
No financial improvement. I thought my job interview with Delizie went well last week but no, no joy there either,” she sighs. “I blew another golden opportunity. Or did I? An extra hour to commute, long hours and less time for my children for sure. Maybe it’s better this way. Maybe it was your way to protect me from lower vibrations. ” Or maybe I’m just kidding myself and I did blow a golden opportunity to earn more money.
She squeezes the green crystal, then kisses it softly and wears the necklace again. Dreaming is for free, after all.
"Time for my journal," she whispers to herself.
"22nd December ‘18
Wait, what have I written? Anna shakes her head in disbelief. Well, why not? It’ll be fun to write a letter to Santa after 30 years.
Anna smirks, remembering the simple things she would ask as a child: a Cicciobello doll, a board game, a special dress … Life was easy then, with Mum and Granny taking care of everything. She sighs, grabs the fountain pen with red ink that she uses on special occasions and carries on writing. ..."

I’ve been curious about the End Times predictions for a long time, and I was looking forward to researching this subject. I’d read a book, “Beyond 2012” by Geoff Stray before 2012 and recently I’ve skimmed through it for ideas for this post. I’ve watched many a YouTube video too.
Still, I cannot bring myself to discuss this subject. My naïve idea was to boil down the prophecies I’d found more fascinating to their core and to compare their take on what’s in store for humanity. However, I’ve encountered the following problems:
I could have written something anyway, but it would have been inaccurate if not misleading, so I’d rather prefer to leave it and tell you what has been helping me find my bearings in this time of transition instead: astrology.
By astrology I don't mean the daily horoscope, I mean the interpretation of astronomy in a spiritual sense. My favorite astrologer is David Palmer, aka The Leo King. So far, he’s the only astrologer I know who goes deep into the meaning of the charts and explains it in a clear, inspiring and entertaining way.
In his horoscopes, he discusses at least three of the many layers of astrology: collective consciousness, history, and the personal layer (To find out more please watch this video: Astrology: How/Why I Became An Astrologer. Spiritual/Esoteric Astrology Become an Astrologer).
All of the predictions I’ve heard have been on point, and have greatly contributed to my understanding of the spiritual challenges our universe, humanity and I have been going through and what is the bigger picture.
Also, in the video Connecting the Solar Magnetic Pole Shift, Solar Flares, W/ Astrology and Spirituality, he discusses what astrology does for the human story, free will and what’s happening at the galactic level.
Thus, after six months of investigating the Earth changes and wondering whether I should relocate and where, I’ve come to the conclusion that the best course of action is to carry on growing my food at the allotment, knitting if I’ve got a moment, store some extra food supplies just in case, and trust in God’s guidance, my internal GPS that has never failed me and always given me what I need.
At the end of the day, dear Seeker, according to Quantum Physics and ancient wisdom, we are co-creators of our own reality, and together with millions of Lightworkers around the world, I’ve devoted my life to create a bright future for humanity. Now it’s not the time to give in to fear, right? It's time to own our destinies and be the stars we are.
Do you agree? Let me know in the comments below.

EARTH CHANGES-THE FUTURE (Part 2/2): “TRANSFORMING OUR WORLD: THE 2030 AGENDA FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” IS NOT WHAT THE UN WANTS YOU TO BELIEVE.
The 2030 Agenda, approved at United Nations Headquarters in New York in September 2015 and available in PDF format from many internet websites, is the updated version of Agenda 21.
As I wrote in my previous blog post, at a first glance this UN document, generally referred to as Agenda 2030, seemed to me a good document. In its PDF version it’s 41 pages long, so it can be read in a sitting. However, to translate its Orwellian Newspeak into plain English takes considerably longer. I invite you, dear Seeker, to read it for yourself, do own research and draw your own conclusions. My aim with this blog post is to highlight just few of the things that, to me, don’t feel right.
So, what's the declared aim of this agenda? In Point 3 of its Declaration section, it states,
“We resolve, between now and 2030, to end poverty and hunger everywhere; to combat inequalities within and among countries; to build peaceful, just and inclusive societies; to protect human rights and promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls; and to ensure the lasting protection of the planet and its natural resources. We resolve also to create conditions for sustainable, inclusive and sustained economic growth, shared prosperity and decent work for all, taking into account different levels of national development and capacities.”
Prompted by Point 91 (the last point of the Agenda), which reads, “We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to achieving this Agenda and utilizing it to the full to transform our world for the better by 2030”, the news I had heard about the UN flashed back to me, helping me to translated the UN’s Newspeak.
a) How can this institution, deeply involved in human rights abuses, “protect human rights”? You may reply that the UN is not the nations that signed this Agenda, and it’s the signatory nations that are committed to protecting human rights. That’s true but of course those nations are aware of the appalling UN track record and have done nothing to address the issue. Therefore, their governments are complicit in its horrific crimes.
If you haven’t heard anything about the enormous human rights abuses perpetrated by this body via its workers and peacekeepers, here’s just a few articles for you to peruse:
b) How does the UN “promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls”?
By allowing Saudi Arabia to become a member of its Women’ Rights Commission. Here's one of the many articles available online: It’s absurd: how Saudi Arabia Ended up on the UN Women’s Rights Commission (Fortune, 25th April 2017).
c) What about this goal, “to ensure the lasting protection of the planet and its natural resources,” how are the signatory nations implementing it?
By promoting fracking. Last time I checked, fracking, forced on us by governments all around the world, is not a renewable energy, and its effects in the long term are unknown.
I live in the UK and what I see is tyranny. The police has been allowed to treat peaceful protesters as if they were criminals, like you can see in this video,
Lancashire Police brutality & arrest at PNR nr Blackpool, Lancashire.
Even politicians like Keith Taylor, MEP for the South East region, has called for a review of police tactics at fracking protests (The Guardian, 10th July 2017).
What I find outrageous is that the local people’s concerns and decisions are being ignored, even if their local authorities voted against fracking. Apart from all the risks involved (earthquakes, water contamination, use of large amount of water in the process, etc.), how would you like to live by a fracking site, hearing a siren-like noise 24/7 and seeing the value of your property reduced to zero? Is this the way “to create conditions for sustainable, inclusive and sustained economic growth, shared prosperity?”
To our leaders yes, and if you add the zero hours contracts and the TTP and TTIP treaties (that we can still stop before they are ratified in our countries), the picture is bleak.
This is already alarming, nevertheless the real threat to our way of living is in the following points, 31 and 33.
“31. The global nature of climate change calls for the widest possible international cooperation aimed at accelerating the reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions and addressing adaptation to the adverse impacts of climate change. We note with grave concern the significant gap between the aggregate effect of parties’ mitigation pledges in terms of global annual emissions of greenhouse gases by 2020 and aggregate emission pathways consistent with having a likely chance of holding the increase in global average temperature below 2 degrees Celsius or 1.5 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels.”
This, as I discuss on in my previous post , is not true as we’re actually at the beginning of the Grand Solar Minimum. This means that we’re headed to a new Ice Age. The more greenhouse gas emissions the better, without polluting our planet of course. The question is: why is the UN pushing this lie?
Apart from the huge amount of public money that who promote this global warming scam (Mr. Al Gore for example) have been granted, with little or no control on how the taxpayer money (our money) is spent.
The key to understand what this is leading to is in the points where biodiversity is mentioned, like in Point 33,
“33. We recognize that social and economic development depends on the sustainable management of our planet’s natural resources. We are therefore determined to conserve and sustainably use oceans and seas, freshwater resources, as well as forests, mountains and drylands and to protect biodiversity, ecosystems and wildlife.”
What is meant by “sustainable management of our planet’s natural resources”? Well, it’s explained in the Convention on Biological Diversity, based on the Wildlands Network (formerly known as the Wildlands Project).
In a nutshell, in order to protect biodiversity, ecosystems and wildlife, humans should give up their homes and farms and agree to live in mega cities in confined spaces, so that large carnivores and ungulates can thrive in huge reserves, protected by buffer zone. These reserves would be connected by corridors, thus allowing little interconnection between human settlements.
Here’s what a map of the USA would look like if this madness is fully implemented:
The allocated space for human is the one in pale blue: not much, right?
We’d better get our acts together and oppose Agenda 2030 all steps of the way, because to me it looks like its ultimate aim is the creation of a Hunger Games society. Actually, I think that the UN is far too corrupted to be saved and should be closed down. What do you think?

EARTH CHANGES-THE FUTURE (Part ½): AGENDA 2030, DEAGEL, LEAKED US NAVY MAPS, AND LAST GLACIAL MAXIMUM
In today’s blog post, I meant to discuss briefly the more popular prophecies on the End Times, like the Mayan, the Hopi, Nostradamus, and Cayce’s ones. Then I thought, “Why not discuss first the views of the future held by international bodies like the UN in the Agenda 2030 document, and other forecasts and maps that are circulating on the net? They may be handier as I’d like to know whereabouts in the world it's safer to live given the changes Mother Earth is going through.”
This research has proven much more difficult than I presumed. Forecasts which seemed from trustworthy sources turned out to be without substance.
Take the Deagel.com forecasts for every nation in year 2025 for example (See above picture). These forecasts see the population numbers down in all NATO countries (Italy’s down by 30%, USA’s by 60%,UK’s by 80%), and more or less stable in the rest of the world. Scary, right? But what is Deagel? Perhaps a company that sells weapons online?
Some YouTubers and bloggers, probably basing their claim on a 2016 Steemit article, affirm that its clients and partners are, among others, NATO, the UN, the World Bank and the Russian Defence Procurement Agency. Strange, because on every page, whatever nation the page is about, the sources cited are: “US Department of Defense, Department of State, CIA, World Bank and European Union”.
Even stranger is the fact that there isn’t an “About Us” and/or a “Contact” page, but only one statement, in which Deagel describes itself as a non-profit organisation. Therefore, it cannot be an arm dealer, for sure.
On the net, no luck, not even a Wikipedia page. At this point, I had serious doubts about the validity of the forecasts. May be the links on its website can shed a light? I clicked on a few of them and landed on public governments and armed forces’ sites. Nothing there was about population or economic forecasts.
At last, scrolling down to the bottom of the lists, I found what I was looking for. Dated “October 26th, 2014”, a brief explanation of where the economic and demographic data used in the making of the forecasts come from. You guessed it, they are not the official data. Why? Because, “We assume that the official data, especially economic, released by governments is fake, cooked or distorted in some degree.” I may agree, but I need proofs of this for every single country and datum considered, otherwise, there are no serious basis for the forecasts.
For the USA, they assume that “The collapse of the Western financial system will wipe out the standard of living of its population while ending ponzi schemes such as the stock exchange and the pension funds. The population will be hit so badly by a full array of bubbles and ponzi schemes that the migration engine will start to work in reverse accelerating itself due to ripple effects thus leading to the demise of the States. This unseen situation for the States will develop itself in a cascade pattern with unprecedented and devastating effects for the economy. Jobs offshoring will surely end with many American Corporations relocating overseas thus becoming foreign Corporations!!!! We see a significant part of the American population migrating to Latin America and Asia while migration to Europe - suffering a similar illness - won't be relevant.”
This is the final nail in the coffin of these forecasts as far as I’m concerned. Although Russia and China are working on reducing the US dollar trade dominance, the US economy is booming due to the return of manufacturing companies to the American soil: since President Trump has been in office, more than 300,000 new jobs have been created. Also, the US President is considering the return to a Gold standard in the United States, and his administration is working on replacing the NAFTA treaty with a deal that will prevent Chinese goods from reaching the American market via Mexico and will make it more convenient for the American companies to stay in the USA.
2)Leaked US Navy Map of Future America
A quick DuckDuckGo search allowed me to find many versions of a “Leaked US Navy map of future America,” of which the one above is a simplified version. The blue areas correspond to submerged zones.
To keep it short, given that this blog post is already quite long, I found it not only impossible to connect this map to an official source, but also no sound justifications for the foreseen changes.
In a very interesting article, Debunked: Leaked US Navy Map, New Madrid, Submerged US by Mick West, it is shown how this map almost coincides with a map created by Gordon-Michael Scallion to describe the US after an event he predicted would start in the 1990s. None of those predictions has come to pass yet. Thank God.
3) Maps of the world during the Last Glacial Maximum (about 26,500 years ago)
This is just one of the many maps available online. As you can imagine, during the Last Glacial Maximum the ice sheets were at their greatest extensions. As the saying goes, we should hope for the best and prepare for the worst. If you want to check how the area you live in would fair during a hypothetical new glacial maximum, you can read the relevant Wikipedia page.
Just a brief note for my fellow Seekers living in the UK: only Southern England would not be covered with an ice sheet. However, it would become a polar desert, like around the North Pole now, with no vegetation-and therefore no food in the fields.
4) Agenda 2030
The next topic I’ve studied to write this blog post is the UN document Agenda 2030, otherwise known as the "Depopulation Agenda". I had read about it before, but hadn’t had the time to analyse it for myself. I must confess that at first I was surprised. It looked all nice and good on paper, I couldn’t find anything about the goal of drastically reducing human population. Finally, the breakthrough, the missing link. And it looks very bad.
More on it on my post coming out on 18 October. It’s a MUST READ!
In the past month I’ve been researching the different topics that I promised to discuss in this post and I have realised that to do a proper job (find the news, verify the sources, describe the phenomenon and offer explanations) I would have to write a very long and too complex (for me) blog post. It would probably be very interesting but would deviate from my original purpose, which is to understand whether the human species is in danger of starvation due to the ongoing Earth changes.
Therefore, I’ve looked into the topics I wanted to discuss and chose the ones that are more relevant.
I have included the first one (Receding sea and river waters) more for the possible causes than for the phenomena themselves.
1) Receding sea and river waters
Since the Boxing Day tsunami, everyone witnessing receding sea waters run for their lives away
from the beaches. In the last few years though, in many cases receding seawater is not the sign of
an incoming tsunami. For example, the water receded from the shoreline in Uruguay and Brazil a
year ago, and from the Gulf of Thailand two months ago.
If you witness this event, refrain from exploring the beach or the riverbed as the water can rapidly
return at any time and catch you by surprise.
What are the causes? Some intriguing explanations are: the Earth wobble, the incoming Planet X,
the Expanding Earth Theory, and crustal displacement.
2) Sinkholes and Earth fissures
Sinkholes have been in the spotlight in the past months, especially here in Kent, as a few
appeared in Maidstone and here in Folkestone. Usually, sinkholes are caused by heavy flooding
events and increased population making heavier demands on land use, nevertheless the reasons
of their appearance in Maidstone and Folkestone have yet to be established.
Earth fissures are large cracks in the ground that form because of soil surface tension due to
lowering of the ground surface elevation. They can be hundreds of metres deep and several
kilometres long and can take millions of years to form (like the one that’s splitting the Horn of
Africa from the rest of the continent and it’s caused by tectonic plate movement) or a few days (in
case of downpours) like the one that opened up in Afar, Ethiopia, in 2005.
Earth fissures pose a significant risk to humans, animals, and infrastructure because of the
destruction they cause and because pollution can make its way deep into the earth and enter an
aquifer by flowing into the crack and contaminating it. This can lead to crop failure and loss of
human and animal lives.
3) Gran Solar Minimum
According to a 2015 study led by astrophysicist Valentina Zharkova at Northumbria University,
who discovered sunquakes and published several papers in Nature, in 2020 the Sun may enter a
period of significantly reduced activity, which will lead to a mini ice age that could last for 30-35
Apart from this research, which I am not qualified to discuss, there are phenomena that seem to
prove that we are indeed headed toward a Grand Solar Minimum:
Cosmic rays, which originate from outside the solar system, can damage human DNA and can
thus be a problem for space missions. The magnetic field carried by the solar wind provides a
protective shield, deflecting galactic cosmic rays from our solar system. The lower the solar
activity, the weaker the solar magnetic field and hence the higher the levels of cosmic rays that
Moscow last February, the first ever snowfall in Southern Morocco last winter, or in Uruguay and
Argentina a few days ago; and in Europe first an extreme cold and than an extreme heat that have
made food prices rise.
As we’ve seen, Earth changes can happen suddenly or take millions of year. They can be dramatic or modest. The only certain thing is that Earth is a living planet and changes are normal. To me, there is enough evidence that it’s time to get ready at least to face the upcoming food shortage due to crops failing all over the world, as documented in the article Perishables Buffeted by Bad Weather by Cap Allon published today on the website https://electroverse.net .
What can we do to be prepared?
There are different scenarios that can pan out during our lifetime, from sudden total devastation (like Yellowstone going off or crustal displacement) to a prolonged power grid failure due a massive coronal mass ejection or extreme weather conditions, or to just a temporary shortage of certain staples like wheat, rice or maize.
A quick internet surfing will help you find a list of survival skills and where to learn them. We can only gain from mastering them, even if (fingers crossed) we'll never have to count on them for our existence. As for me, I'm already proficient in different healing techniques so I'm learning to grow my food at the community allotment, and to knit. Next on my list is to look into how to survive a prolonged power cut. Needless to say, networking is fundamental.
Good websites to keep us informed on what’s happening around the world are:
Evolutionary Energy Arts (and its YouTube channel)
USGS (Earthquake Hazards Program)
Whatever you're going to learn, dear Seeker, make sure you join me here on 20 September to read my next blog post on the End Times prophecies.
Like thousands of farmers around the world, we too have encountered difficulties in growing our crop at the Folkestone Cantiaci allotment this year. For us, it has been first the snow in the end of March and then the drought in June and July that have compromised our harvest.
Luckily we don't depend on the allotment for putting food on our tables, but in the near future this, unfortunately, could change as crops around the world could fail and staple food prices rise.
The news about the changes that Earth has allegedly been going through overwhelm me sometimes, making me wonder what is really happening and what I can do to prepare for what's in store for us. Hence the idea of writing a blog post on it. However, this topic is vast, so I’ll discuss it in two posts. In this one, I’ll look into the risk caused by heat, droughts and flooding; volcanic activity; earthquakes; and the weakening of the magnetic field. In my next blog post, I’ll discuss the phenomena of receding sea waters; sinkholes and fissures; the disappearance of insects; strange sky phenomena; the mysterious “booms” heard around the world; and last but not least, the grand solar minimum.
1) Heat, droughts and flooding
According to a study on the risks of crop disasters due to heat, droughts and flooding, “there is a 6% chance every decade that a simultaneous failure in maize production could occur in China and the US – the world’s main growers – which would result in widespread misery, particularly in Africa and south Asia, where maize is consumed directly as food”, and “The impact would be felt at a global scale.” (To learn more, please read the article “Maize, rice, wheat: alarm at rising climate risk to vital crops“ published by Robin McKie, The Guardian Observer Science Editor, first published on Sat 15 Jul 2017.)
2) Volcanic activity
Despite the spectacular eruptions in Guatemala and Hawaii, according to many sources, like the Smithsonian Institute’s website, the current level of volcanic activity is normal and therefore the amount of ashes spewed out by volcanoes so far isn't enough to block out the sun beams more than usual.
According to a paper presented by Roger Bilham of the University of Colorado in Boulder and Rebecca Bendick of the University of Montana in Missoula at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America in October 2017, there is a link between Earth’s rotation and seismic activity. As Earth’s rotation has been slowing down in the past few years, to Bilham, “Next year we should see a significant increase in numbers of severe earthquakes. We have had it easy this year. So far, we have only had about six severe earthquakes. We could easily have 20 a year starting in 2018.”
Will this be the year in which “The Big One” hits the West Coast of the USA?
4) Weakening of the magnetic field and poles’ shift
The Earth’s magnetic field protects the planet from solar and cosmic rays. When the poles switch, this protective shield could diminish to as little as one-tenth of its typical ability.
For the last 160 years, the strength of Earth’s magnetic field has been decreasing at a worrying rate, especially in a huge expanse of the Southern Hemisphere, extending from Zimbabwe to Chile, known as the South Atlantic Anomaly. The field no longer protects the satellites that orbit above the region from the radiation that interferes with satellite electronics.
As the field grows weaker, the possibility of a reversal of the magnetic poles, already overdue, rises. Although nobody can tell when the flip will take place and how long the reversal process will last, there is a widespread consensus that not only our navigation systems and the transmission of electricity will be affected, but also the animals that migrate, like birds and dolphins for example. In addition, the risk of cancer will grow.
On the bright side, the northern lights might be enjoyed at lower latitudes.
